Gender apartheid is neither fair nor lovely.

Around 10:00 am there was utter chaos in the college campus. Peons, teachers and students were busy managing their respective jobs. College was organizing “condolence day” for Nelson Mandela.
At 10:45 am ,when all the formalities were done, like lightening of lamps by unenlightened souls. Those two words of the chief speaker, which never seemed to reach the final full stop.
After that it was time for two student speakers to pay their obituary to the legend. Siddhant and Nyssa .Siddhant being the first speaker effaced Nyssa in great pace ,while tapping and pressing hard his cherry blossomed shoes and marched towards the dice.
Nyssa knew first of all he would waste his time making formalities, greeting every honorable man and woman. She thought had he been woman ,his half life would be wasted in completing formalities.
Siddhant began with the same old rhetoric, his words echoed cool dude format, the googled script. Mandela did this Mandela was the true legend. His Indian connection and his Gandhian inspiration
Nyssa was smiling, only two things made Indians happy one if any global icon had the Indian connection two if any Indian origin got global recognition.
Once Siddhant was done. clapping filled the sound proof seminar hall his word ,especially his propagandist style made everyone his fan, girls silently admired this attitude .
Then came Nyssa, Siddhant charismatic eyes met her scoffing eyes.
Nyssa held the mic she did not make great formalities, she never did that, this disappointed the organizers. She did not speak much of Mandela and Africa .instead she banged on with the gender apartheid amalgamated in the minds of the Indians. The obsession for fair skin tone.
She began
“Today leading daily had jacket advertisement of the fairness cream, that would do away with the dark skin type.
I proceeded, after edit page giving full fledged opinion on Mandela’s anti apartheid role, the next page had matrimonial ad saying
Needed, fair ,slim ,homely, educated girl……..for tall ,dark, handsome business man.
I closed the newspaper and decided not to pay tribute to the Legend  .he was great human soul ,I never wanted to insult him by making superficial homage to him .when we cant appreciate melanin in our own skin how can we make obituary for a man who spent his life fighting for blacks.”

Siddhant and others got confused. She is making great peccadillo on such serious occasion.
Nyssa continued “how often darker skinned girls face racism for their texture and tone .how at wedding times girls go for one month parlor treatment to shed away their melanin, thus becoming divas. Unfortunately how fair you look on your wedding day, your rest of the life will receive unfair treatment from people whom you seduce with your beauty.
So called women empowering bollywood has set up the criteria of selecting female lead on FQ (fairness quotient) rather than IQ. no  wonder why people love Barbie dolls .they are fair ,speechless, dumb.its hard for man to handle think toned woman who can challenge their superiority every now and then.
Why brilliant talent like Nandita Das never gets commercial films. Why foreign imported rule the screen? (here ruling means playing male protagonist’s love interest that’s it.)
Last September, we got offended when Americans called Indian Origin Miss America 2013 Nina Davulini an Arab for her brown skin. News hour shows got hyperactive like always when they themselves prefer no-melanin anchors .criticizing Americans and saying its high time they should shed away their racist thinking.”
The gathering hall went mum, people looking at each other like something is goanna happen soon. Chief speaker looked secretly at his wife as if he was measuring his wife’s melanin content
Nyssa questioned again
“Don’t you people understand the simple science behind the dark skin type. Let me tell you higher the melanin content, higher is your resistance to UV rays, slower you skin ages and lesser are the chances of having skin cancer. It’s very sorry state, Indians desperately want their kids to choose science stream and become posh (streams like humanities or commerce are down market)
Oh we Indians just study, we never apply our studies and neither are we taught to develop cognitive skills .just cram inside the class, vomit in the exams and get the best packages. No wonder why west produces leaders and Indians become loyal workers”
Science teachers slipped further in their chairs.Nyssa euphemistically obloquies them.
“we are the pathetic appliers of science in respect with gender. Our society is so cruel to blame women for delivering baby girl. Although everyone knows science behind it, its complete man’s fault, in his orgasmic excitement he ejaculates semen with X sperm.
Why people don’t shout at their sons in the labor room and say .why X? Why not Y?”
Men in the hall got puzzled .two of them fumbled with the glass of water they had, their cheeks bumped up with water and lips sealed as if they were questioning each other last night it was what X or Y? No one seemed to have answers to Nyssa’s why.
Nyssa continued
“Organizing shallow homage is of no use. Why government of India declared 5 day national condolence when they cannot do way with the gender apartheid prevalent in the country. Mandela soul would be highly disappointed in the heaven to receive obituary from fair and lovely syndrome stuck people.
Indian needs social engineering more than any other engineering. Being technologically advanced and sophisticated is not same as being aware and open-minded.
I wish Mandela is born in every Indian home.”
With this she said
“Thank you.”
While her words were inspiring, they offended so many; she forced the reality mirror with high melanin reflection at them. The truth was the spiciest diet nobody ever digested it..While no clapping sounded. The sound proof hall echoed melanin, melanin, apartheid and every word she said.
At least for tonight people would sleep with their melanin skin. In India person of every age group suffered from senile dementia .next morning they would wake up, looking for fairness cream.
Yes we are proud nation of fair and lovely movement.

Why history lessons were boring in schools?

We were not taught (told) history as it was. History lessons dealt with dates and events only, history was always about kings, wars, victories and so called larger than life things. We were just told who ruled us,for how long.We never came to know about common man's life, may be it was not worth writing or documenting(it is still not worth it,only politicians make news). History books never had chapters of North East India and its contrib ution to Indian freedom struggle.Conflict regions' making and history was never made available rather they were just called resource abundant regions. Rise of right wing (radicalisation)doesn't find mention either. History books have been agents of lies and deception. History writing is often used as tool by state to deceive it's citizens,so that the truth and facts never come out. Whether it's America,India or Pakistan, their school history lessons are self congratulatory. Currently state is busy in bringing 'In...

Nightingale got no prize at the poultry show

Einstien,Twain,Edison were born out of class, before the text proceeds , I would like to say here 'class' doesn’t mean the structure with four walls, one door, two windows, one teacher, books and the pack of chained students. Here class is the niche of brilliance, freedom, discovery, imagination and invention. I wish to have education system that forges humans with brain and not machines with grades. As a student .I always wondered, how one can go about saying two plus two equals to four? Without anyone questioning why? Just because our course book said so. Why in history "dates and events” were asked? When no one taught us the resemblance to the days which we live in. Why for learning anything new, we need old books instead of new ideas? Why make notes in class, when the brain is blank and ink in copy left no hammer on thinking? Why teachers ask us to learn by heart, while it is the mind that is required to do so.? Even Winston Churchill had a dig at his tea...

Why was I late?

In afternoon when I returned   home from school my mother was in fever all evening and night I took care of her so that she gets alright. In morning I got up to get ready for school my mother was still ill I wandered in home to see what I could do before going to school.  the breakfast was to be made, like yours mam,my home as no maid. my younger brother was hungry . my father was leaving for work, in hurry. I had to mop the floor  and do dishes before I get my hair combed and make plaits . my little hands couldn’t make plaits tidy my ribbon too looked untidy. In haste I couldn’t polish my shoes. like everything here too I had little to choose. My nails still contain dough’s remains in its pores. yes I did not wash my hands properly before leaving home. My shirt was not white, neither starched in sunlight it smells oil and sweat because of weary morning I had in kitchen. I am not one of your bright students. I manage...
